There is increased interest in multi-port antennas in recent years. Many parameters, namely the diversity of radiation patterns, topology of matching circuits, radiation efficiency, or total active reflection coefficient, strongly affect their performance. Moreover, all the above mentioned parameters are functions of geometry. Derive all parameters for multi-port antenna, implement them in MATLAB, and study the optimality of feeding network and shape of the antenna. As the initial structure, focus on metallic rim with parasitic ground plane which is often utilized in smartphones. Compare the results with antennas designed in the literature.
