80th anniversary of the microwave oven

This October marked 80 years since the invention of the microwave oven. This widely used device has become perhaps the greatest popularizer of microwave technology in the world. Few people can think of any other use of microwave technology in everyday life. On this anniversary, a crew from Czech Television came to our department and Prof. Čapek had the opportunity to briefly talk about the microwave oven and its principle and show some experiments.
